Radio Astronomy. As associate director of the division, Professor Lilley initiated programs for development of a Bragg cell
spectrum analyzer, an improved multichannel filter system for the
Texas Millimeter Wave Observatory, and ground-based radio
instrumentation to measure molecular gases in the stratosphere and
mesosphere.

As the Draper Memorial investigations form one of the most note-
worthy departments of the Harvard Observatory, and as these inves-
tigations-under the direction of ProE E. C. Pickering, the director
of the Observatory are carried on by women, the present article
will devote itself principally to a description of this work.

requested, as heretofore, to send to this Observatory announcement
of their discoveries for transmission to the observatories of Europe
and America. To secure prompt attention, it is requested that all
