HARVARD COLLEGE OBSERVATORY Radio Astronomy. As associate director of the division, Professor Lilley initiated programs for development of a Bragg cell spectrum analyzer, an improved multichannel filter system for the Texas Millimeter Wave Observatory, and ground-based radio instrumentation to measure molecular gases in the stratosphere and mesosphere.

Astronomers are requested, as heretofore, to send to this Observatory announcement of their discoveries for transmission to the observatories of Europe and America. As the Draper Memorial investigations form one of the most note- worthy departments of the Harvard Observatory, and as these inves- tigations-under the direction of ProE E. C.
